SG Team Breakdown

Note: Major Jake Asher is the senior SG Team Commander. Until I promote him to Lieutenant Colonel, no Team Commander can be more than a Major.

Note: Applications for female characters are welcome for all SG Team positions. We are going to bend reality a little and accept apps for female characters from SpecOps. I think SpecOps was opened to women in 2016. Let’s say in our little corner of reality, SpecOps was opened to them in 2009.

• Team Commander: This is a Commissioned Officer from either the US Air Force, the US Army, or the US Marines. This officer will come from USAF Special Tactics, US Army Special Forces, US Army Delta, US Marine Raider Regiment/MARSOC, US Marine Force Recon. This officer will not be a pilot.
• Assistant Team Commander: This is a Commissioned Officer from either the US Air Force, the US Army, or the US Marines. This officer will come from USAF Special Tactics, US Army Special Forces, US Army Delta, US Marine Raider Regiment/MARSOC, US Marine Force Recon. This officer will not be a pilot.
• Aviation Officer: This will be a pilot. Most likely this will be a USAF pilot who has been through Air Liaison Officer Training, BUT I will accept a Commissioned Officer from the US Army’s 160th Special Operations Air Regiment (160th SOAR) who has been through Green Team training (I think that’s what they call it). Unfortunately, I don’t have any Flight Warrant Officer rank tabs. I will also accept applications from Marine pilot characters, but please try to make a backstory for your character that explains why Brigadier General Wolf would feel comfortably putting a rifle in your character’s hands and sending him or her on a long walk into a denied area (enemy controlled area).
• Team Medic: This will be either a USAF Pararescueman, Staff Sergeant to Master Sergeant, or a US Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant (18D) anywhere from Sergeant to Sergeant First Class.
• Cultural Advisor: This is a civilian position, usually held by a Archaeologist and/or Anthropologist. Apps for characters who hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in their field will be given greater consideration.
• Second Civilian Position: There is room for a second civilian position on every team. This can be a Cultural Advisor, an Engineer, a Scientist.
• Alternate positions for one of the two Civilian Positions will be considered on request. At the moment, teams are set at 6 people. If there is sufficient interest, we will either increase the team size to 8 people or split into two teams, thereby activating SG-2.
